I'm thinking of purchasing a 2nd Mac to use as a VE Pro server and have a
couple of questions for those of you who have done that.
  • My VIs and FX plugins are on my
main computer in the standard plugins locations, and my sample libraries
are on a drive stack connected to the main computer. Do I need to move
those to the server computer, or do I just point the server to the
    current locations?
  • I understand that Macs can be networked with a Thunderbolt
connection. Is there any advantage/disadvantage to doing the network
connection with TB rather than Ethernet?
  • The specs for VEP say you need a Gigabit Ethernet connection. Is there any improvement if you use 10GbE?
  • Once the server is configured and running, does it need
keyboard/mouse/monitor, or can I just connect to it remotely to operate
    it?

Is working in the field of cloud computing still relevant in the world now?

It seems to me that buying a Mac to keep a server is stupid. Mac doesn't have great technical features. The only advantage of a Mac is its process, but to keep the server running, you need as much RAM as possible. I still remember this from college, when we studied networks, and how much I wouldn't say I liked this subject in college. However, some knowledge has come in handy for me now, and I'm creating my own business. And I can set up a server database and build a website for my business. However, I will still find programmers [networklondon.co.uk] and hire them to work for me because I need to optimize and integrate business software for easier management of my business.
