The Motorola ZN200 is a flashy slider that’s relatively inexpensive. Though it is nothing outstanding or competitive among most other similar priced phones, it provides a unique experience to the low-budget user. Find out more in this Motorola ZN200 mobile phone review from phones.com

Look, Design, Feel (/10)

With its slider closed, the Motorola ZN200 looks somewhat like a game-console or MP4 player. There are a bunch of keys on the Slider’s top itself, and sliding it open reveals a well-lit, flatbed keypad with popping out buttons. The left hand side contains the volume keys and a USB slot. The right hand side has a dedicated camera key. The body of the ZN200 consists high-gloss covering. The 5-way navigation key was easy to use. The ZN200 is 15.9 mm thick when closed. The quadband device weighs 115 grams. There’s a pretty cool status indicator on the ZN200 that lets you know of message alerts, missed calls and other event notifications through the glowing icons on its top.

Features (/10)

The ZN200 features a 262K color 1.9” TFT with a 176x220 resolution. The 2.0 megapixel camera the Motorola ZN200 has was barely up to the mark; it lacked auto-focus or Flash. Video recording and playback is supported in screen resolution, but at 15-20 fps. There’s an MP3 player with support for AAC/WAV/iMelody as well. FM Radio and Photo Gallery and Editing applications add to the multimedia front. There’s no RDS but the ZN200 includes the Bluetooth A2DP standard for wireless stereo music streaming. The Motorola ZN200 has 30MB of internal memory and a microSD expansion slot with support for a maximum 2GB cards. There are decent PIM features and the Java MIDP 2.0 engine with support for 1MB heap and most multimedia APIs. Bundled games are good but more can be added through Java ME functionality. The CrystalTalk feature present on the Moto ZN200 employs a noise-reduction feature for clear talk in noisy environments.

Connectivity (/10)

This slider is a Quadband GSM with no hint of 3G. There’s EDGE and GPRS Class 32 connectivity for anywhere internet connectivity. The ZN200 despite its low cost includes Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and AVRCP profiles. It also supports using the device as a tethered Data modem or FAX modem through USB and Bluetooth. The Java ME present on the device supports a multitude of connections for various apps.

Performance (/10)

The Motorola ZN200 comes with a standard BC50 Li-ion battery which backs it up for 2 weeks standby. The talk time as rated by Motorola is 8 and half hours. That’s very good performance for most voice users.

Value for Money (/10)

The Motorola ZN200 features a good resolution, excellent camera and portrays fantastic look where you can certainly explore its video capabilities as well. To check whether it actually caters to the things that it promises to deliver, simply give a try to it.
