A lot of mobile phone users want the best features and the latest mobile technology on their cellphones, but other – the vast majority – consider mobile phones as a need and that need should be satisfied with one of the most basic mobile phone features: SMS. In this matter, LG has released a new handset which already might be considered the world’s leading text messaging device.
Studies show that the most used mobile phone feature is the SMS. Statistics indicate that there are ‘zillions’ of text messages sent every year around the world. It was not long before one manufacturer should forge a specialized cellphone. LG did it.
The LG KEYBO which is practically a new version of LG enV2 was first released by Telus in Canada. The device is made for one simple user: SMS. Its other features are pretty basic as well, except for its elegant design.
The KEYBO comes with an external display and an internal QVGA. Easing SMS writing, the device has a full QWERTY keypad. The handset comes with just a 2 megapixel camera with digital zoom, night mode and video recording. Interesting is the fact that it has a 1GB memory card which can be expanded to 8GB. This is enough space to store any entertainment like music and videos.
Since it is made for texting, the LG KEYBO comes with Windows Live Messenger, excellent for chatting. The device supports EV-DO dual band CDMA 800 / 1900 MHz and includes GPS.
For a two year contract, Telus offers the LG KEYBO for 99 Canadian dollars, for three year contract you can get the handset for $49. The device is also available without contract but at $299.
