A release date has been confirmed to Pocket-lint by a Nokia staff member. The UK release date is 25 August 2010. The Nokia N8 will become available in Germany in August 24 through Vodafone. 

Nokia N8 may be a pretty interesting handset. It comes with a 3.5 inch OLED touchscreen that offers 16:9 nHD capable of offering 640 x 360 pixels resolution and 16.7 million colors. The handset comes with 16GB of internal memory and a microSD card support for up to 32GB of additional memory.

It comes with FM Radio, FM Transmitter, Bluetooth 3.0, high-speed USB 2.0, HDMI, GPS, A-GPS receivers and WiFi. The phone is powered by a BL/4D 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery capable of offering 720 min of talktime and over 390 hours in standby.

Nokia N8 comes with a 12 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, fullscreen 16:9 viewfinder with easy-to-use touchscreen parameters, Xenon flash, face detection software, autofocus and 2x digital zoom for pictures and 3x digital zoom for video. The phone is capable of offering HD 720p Video playback on HD TV through HDMI cable.

A quite intriguing phone, isn’t it? Well, unfortunately there is not release date available for other countries so if you plan to get your hands on this device you may have to wait a little more.
