After the mobile WiMAX, dubbed WiBro in Korea was launched in June 30 2006, the number of subscribers grew rapidly. According to a ROA Group report, South Korea wll reach probably more than 2.5 million WiMAX users by 2011.

Statistics show that the number of subscribers increased in 5,600 in April 2007 to 106,000 in December the same year. For 2008, the number of subscribers has been increased by around 10000 every month.
