Sony Ericsson has introduced some time ago a brilliant handset codenamed Idou. It appears that the company has decided to name it “Satio”. In consequence, the official name of the 12.1 megapixel camera phone is Sony Ericsson Satio.
The phone is brilliant by design and features. The handset comes with a 12.1 megapixel camera and other extraordinary features which will be detailed below. Anyway, I just want to point out, again, that the camera is pretty useless as the human eye cannot detect the quality. Basically if you have a photo taken with a 10 megapixel camera and the same photo with a 12 megapixel camera, you won’t see the difference.
Anyway, the Sony Ericsson Satio comes with a 12.1 megapixel camera and we might want to show all the features it brings. Well, it comes with up to 12x digital zoom, auto focus, BestPic, face detection, Go tagging of photos, image stabilizer, photo feeds, photo fix, send to web, red eye reduction, smile detection, touch focus, video recording capabilities, xenon flash and video light. There you go…
But this is not everything, the phone has other interesting stuff besides the 12.1 megapixel camera with all the extra extras enumerated above. The handset comes with a 3.5 inch screen in 16:9 widescreen format for watching videos on the go.
The handset allows you to listen to music and do more with your music files. Music features include album art, Bluetooth stereo, A2DP, media player, music tones, MP3/AAC, PlayNow and TrackID.
These days mobile phone are also used for Internet surfing. The Sony Ericsson Satio comes with WebKit web browser, Bookmarks and Web Feeds. Additionally the handset comes with an on-screen QWERTY keyboard facilitating messaging such as IM, SMS, Email. The handset includes Exchange ActiveSync, MMS, sound recorder.
For entertainment, the handset comes with HD and 3D games support, Facebook application, FM radio with RDS, Java support, video streaming, video viewing and YouTube support. And for watching YouTube videos, one needs good connectivity.
The SE Satio comes with a modem, PictBridge, TV out, Synchronisation, USB mass storage, in built WiFi. It additionally includes AGPS, Google Maps support and turn by turn navigation. It also comes with GMS, GPRS/EDGE support and UMTS HSDPA 2100.
Interestingly, the phone comes with just 128 MB of internal memory so thank God for the microSD support. Anyway, the handset weights about 126 grams and its size is 112 x 55 x 13.3 mm. It is available in three colors: Black, Silver and Bordeaux.
The Sony Ericsson Satio will be available in Q4. Until then we hope to have more information on its price tag and availability.
