Samsung has just unveiled the I7500, the company’s first Android-powered mobile phone. Samsung has no become the first company among the global top three mobile phone manufacturers to unveil and Android-powered phone.

“Samsung is among the earliest members of the Open Handset Alliance and has been actively moving forward to introduce the most innovative Android mobile phone,” said Sandeep Saihgal, general manager of mobile phones at Samsung Gulf Electronics.

The new handset is a pretty interesting smartphone featuring a 3.2 inch active matrix organic light-emitting diode full touch screen and 7.2 Mbps high-speed downlink packet access and WiFi connectivity.

The Samsun I7500 also offers users access to the full suite of Google services, including Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Calendar and Google Talk. Another interesting feature of this phone is the integrated GPS receiver that enables the use of Google Maps additional features such as My Location, Google Latitude, Street View, local search and detailed route description.

The handset comes with a 5 megapixel camera and various multimedia codec formats. It also has generous memory capacity up to 40GB. Internal memory is 8GB, however the external memory is up to 32GB.
