According to Charter Equity Research analyst Ed Snyder, Palm managed to sale over 300,000 Palm Pre units in June plus additional 70,000 in May. The analyst also says that the company needs to produce more handsets to keep up with consumer demand.
Ed Snyder says that the number of handsets available at the date of Palm Pre’s launch was about 120,000 units due to manufacturing problems and uncertainty about demand. However, the phones were sold in just a few days.
The company is now producing about 15,000 Palm Pre phones per day and will supply Sprint with approximately 1 million units in the first quarter of production. The analyst also says that Palm will launch the WCDMA version of Palm Pre with Telefonica in September.
