O2 and HTC are expected to announce a new handset at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 17.

Pocket-Lint.com learnt from Peter Chou, CEO of the mobile phone manufacturer HTC, that O2’s UK General Manager, Steve Adler, will be holding a press conference to introduce a new handset. The rumor has spread on the internet and mobile phone users expect the device to be the Bravo, Incredible or Legend. However, speculations continue and some believe that the handset is in fact the HTC Scorpion.

The HTC Scorpion, comes with a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor and runs on Android 2.2. The handset surfaced recently and users speculate that this might be the phone to be announced at the Mobile World Congress. However, O2 and HTC did not comment on this matter.
