On Thursday, Nokia Beta Labs announced a new version of the Nokia Messaging client and it will be available for S60 5.0 handsets. The application is for now available only to display as a pre-release version, however, we can expect the real thing soon.

Nokia Messaging for S60 5.0 will be available in full version in May. At that time, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic owners will have the opportunity to take full advantages of the software’s capabilities. The pre-release version has been published in order to allow users to check its features and provide feedback that might help creating a better version.

The new application will offer popular features like Push email delivery, IMAP subfolders and mobilizing up to ten mailboxes including Windows Live Hotmail, Yahoo! and Gmail, according to Softpedia.

A new feature enables easier program navigation with support for ‘tap and hold’ contextual functionality, a completely fingertip-operated client, eliminating the need for a stylus. The application works both in portrait and landscape modes, and also includes message previews in the inbox new and also displays address book contact phones, writes Softpedia.

There will be no changes between this version and the final release that comes in May. However, the Nokia Beta Labs team want to get feedback from users in order to get started in preparing the next version of the S60 5.0 client.
