Nokia introduced its new Navigation edition- Nokia 2710. Believed to be a version of the 5800 XpressMusic - 5800 Navigation Edition, the handset is based on Series 40 interface where Nokia Maps provide the broadest navigation coverage.
The phone features a 2.2" QVGA display, 2 MP camera, 3.5mm jack and FM radio. It lacks the built-in Wi-Fi or 3G support and will be offered a life-long navigational license.
Supposed to be available around the second quarter of 2010, the new navigation edition from Nokia is rumored to come for a retail price of 110 EUR before taxes and subsidies.
“There is a clear trend to provide navigation, mapping and other location based services to mobile phones, and having mapping and location based services integrated in one single mobile device rather than buying two devices is a great benefit” says Alex Lambeek, Vice President, Mobile Phones, Nokia.
This latest phone from Nokia is expected to be popular in the urban environments, small towns, as well as rural areas.
