HTC plans a new release, the HTC T8290 that will incorporate WiMax. The commercial name for this handset is not known but it should be an easy-to-remember one.

Anyway, the phone comes with some interesting features. It has a 3.8 inch WVGA touchscreen, GSM and WiMax, WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0. The handset runs Windows Mobile 6.1.

Additionally it will incorporate a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and will have about 128 MB RAM and lots of internal memory expendable with microSD memory cards. The handset is a quadband GSM/GRPS/EDGE and a dualband UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA.

As for the hardware, the new device has a Qualcomm 7206A CPU at 528 MHz and Mobile WiMax 802.16e.
