Nokia enrolled NEC, Alcatel, Sony Ericsson for a plan to forge a 4G wireless system. The firms have set up a name for the upcoming project, Long Term Evolution (LTE), this may be the competitor to Wimax which is pushed by Intel. LTE networks are being rolled out in the US and China.

The Finns want to have the first prize for everything, don’t they? All aspects of their actions offer a good hint to capable business moves made by Nokia. An alliance with its competition to smash an important opponent is, of course, an intelligent business step.
