LG announces the new Optimus series Saveri Dhekney | , 9:50 बजे July 6, 2010 2010-07-06

Korean phone manufacturer, LG Electronics (LG) has made two new additions to their Optimus series with entry-level smartphones LG Optimus One and LG Chic. Both phones run on the latest Android OS v2.2 Froyo while the current South Korean versions of the Optimus; Optimus Q and Z will get an update in the coming months.

In addition, LG has promised it will introduce 10 more Android-powered devices to its catalogue by the end of this year, a nice treat to incorporate in any busy person's life. It has not been made clear whether the phones to be introduced under the Optimus label will run on the Google platform or any other.

The current announcements confirm the Froyo platform and other Google related apps, but no other features have been made specific. The Froyo platform offers an effective user experience than the previous Android and certainly, users could expect better results from the upcoming Optimus duos. The final announcement is likely to have Wi-Fi connectivity in both the phones.

An out of the blue announcement comes at the end of the press release where LG talks about introducing its first tablet device later this year. Taking digs at its rival companies, LG pledges to deliver a vastly superior performance than its competitors while still being sleeker than its counterparts do.

More than the flowery language, we hoped for the specifications LG! If LG keeps it promise, our optimism should pay off.
