Reports indicate that a bug has surfaced in the iPhone OS 3.0 that enables users to retrieve emails that have been deleted just by searching with Spotlight. The consequences can be dire as this means an opportunity for email hacks.
All the user needs to do is search for the e-mail’s subject line using Spotlight and can get the entire email message even if it was deleted. According to Mobile Burn, the user who discovered the bug is able to retrieve emails that are up to three to four months old.
Matt Janssen discovered the bug and says that he can retrieve email long deleted. At this moment, Apple did not comment on this issue.
