The Taiwan-based company mainly known for its laptops has decided some time ago to enter the mobile phone market. The company has decided to release four handsets in Indonesia in a program called Acer Tempo Smartphone Series. The handsets will be distributed in the country through an agreement between Acer Smart Handheld Business Group and PT Golden Victory Indonesia.
"We are confident about entering the Indonesian market," said Kama Kahar, director of business development and strategic partnerships of Smart Handheld Business Group for the Jakarta Post.
"Acer smartphones will be offered through all Acer computer outlets here, so we can deliver high-quality after-sales service to our customers," he added.
The Acer DX900 is said to be the world’s first dual SIM and dual stand Windows Mobile smartphone support 3G and 2G networks. The handset is running Windows Mobile 6.1 for Pocket PC Phone Edition and is powered by a Samsung S3C 6400 533 MHz mobile processor. The phone comes with 128 MB SDRAM and 256 MB flash memory. In addition, the handset offers a 3 megapixel CMOS camera with auto-focus and LED flash and a 2.8 inch VGA TFT LCD touchscreen display offerin 640 x 480 pixel resolution and 65K colors. The Phone is priced at Rp 6 million.
The Acer F900 comes with a 3.8 inch WVGA TFT LCD touchscreen display boasting 480 x 800 pixel resolution and support for 65K colors. The handset runs Windows Mobile 6.1 and has HSDPA, HSUPA, GSM/ EDGE, GPRS/ EGPRS, WLAN and Bluetooth connectivity support. Also, the handset comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus.
Lastly, but not last, the Acer M900 comes with a full QWERTY keyboard, fingerprint sensor so you don’t need passwords or logins. The handset is definitely the most secured handset available out there.
The phone sports a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash and a 3.8 inch display offering 800 x 480 pixels resolution. Users can acquire the M900 for about Rp 6.5 million.
