I know how to activate GPS on LG phones I own a LG VX6100 and hope these steps help u

    # Menu – press 0 – service code 000000
    # Field Tests – choice 6 i.e. GPSone – choice 1 (GPS screen) – ON
    # choice 5 (NV) - choice 5 (GPS lock) – select mobile
    # go to GPSone and then select choice 4. this will start GPS.
    # choice 2 (test num) – dial number – get GPS info

Maybe your network doesn’t provide GPS facilities. sad
