To set individual ringtones for your contacts in your cell phone, you'll need to select the contact and select the ringtone you'd like to hear when they call you. For the vast majority of people, we would categorize our contacts in two major buckets: people we talk to or text all the time, and people we keep in our contacts just in case.

Setting a custom ringtone is a great way to identify an important call or message when your phone isn't within immediate reach. There are dozens of apps and websites to download ringtones and use it on your Android phone. However, there is a chance the ringtone of your favorite tune may not be available, or not created to your taste. If that’s the case, then you can also create your own ringtones from your favorite songs and melodies.

In today’s post, I will show you how you can create a ringtone out of any audio file and do it without spending a penny.

Part 2. Custom ringtone using Android 9.0 Pie
Android has a way to create custom ringtone baked right into its operating system. If you are using Android 9.0 Pie or later, you don't need to download anything special to get this to work. You will need to have the song or audio file on your device, however.

Once you have your file stored on your phone, head over to Settings and then Sound. From there, you can choose the ringtone and call volume for each SIM (if you have a dual-SIM phone as pictured below). Tap Phone ringtone and then at the top right of the screen click on the + icon to add a new ringtone to your list of default options.

You can choose from songs, artists, albums, genres or choose a tack from a folder. By searching through the folder tab, you can even add WhatsApp audio as your new ringtone, if you'd like. Once you have added a ringtone, it will appear in your list of tones. Simply select it and press OK at the bottom of the screen to confirm the change.

Syncios Phone Manager [syncios.com] could sync ringtones to your phone directly. It won't waste any time.
